Kentucky Junior Match Play Championship Format & Structure

The format and schedule for this weekend's Kentucky Junior Match Play Championship has been finalized. The event takes place on April 10-11 from Polo Fields Golf & Country Club in Louisville. Because there are many rounds of the competition to complete over just two days, players that usually play 18-hole rounds will play 9-hole matches each round of the tournament. Players in traditional 9-hole and 6-hole divisions will have their matches contested as 9-hole and 6-hole matches as they generally would.

With an odd number of registrants in a few divisions, there are some players who received automatic first-round byes. Because it is early in the season with only two events completed, all byes were generated at random.

As can be seen above, most divisions have a unique schedule as to when their matches will be played. The "early" set of matches begins at 12:00 p.m. EDT each day, the "late" set will begin in the mid-to-late afternoon once the next round of matches in the division is set and the starting tee is clear. Early Saturday tee times can be found by clicking here. The second set of matches on Saturday will be confirmed once that wave has concluded play.

Below is the broken-down synopsis of when divisions will have matches played at given times, plus each division's bracket. If you have any questions, please call Golf House Kentucky at (502) 243-8295 or email Michael Vick, PGA.
