Talen Beane with the Kentucky Boys Junior Amateur Trophy

LOUISVILLE, KY (July 9, 2025) – The final round of the 46th Kentucky Boys Junior Amateur at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club brought final-round pressure and championship-caliber conditions, as players faced sweltering summer heat, occasional rain, and tightly tucked pins. Rising above a crowded leaderboard, Talen Beane of California carded a steady one-over-par 73 to capture the championship title with a tournament total of 70-71-73—214.

Beane entered the day tied for the lead at three-under-par with Landon Hunt and quickly found his rhythm. He turned in a bogey-free front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 sixth. His back nine proved more turbulent, with bogeys on holes 13 and 15 followed by a double bogey on 16. However, Beane responded with impressive poise, closing with clutch back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18—including a 15-foot putt to secure the championship.

Will Judd made a late charge with the low round of the day, a four-under 68. He got off to a hot start with birdies on holes 2 and 4, and bounced back from a bogey on 3 with another birdie at the turn on 9. After a bogey on 10, Judd caught fire on the closing stretch, rattling off birdies on 14, 15, and 16. He finished with rounds of 74-73-68—215, tying for second.

William Stuart delivered a consistent final round of one-under 71. He opened with back-to-back birdies on holes 3 and 4, offset a bogey on 5 with a birdie on 8, and made the turn in red numbers. A bogey on 12 was countered by a birdie on 14, but a stumble on 16 limited his chances to contend for the win. Stuart’s final tally also came to 71-73-71—215.

With Judd and Stuart tied at one-under-par for the tournament, the runner-up position was determined via a scorecard playoff. Judd’s final back nine of 34 edged out Stuart's 37, securing second place for Judd.

One of the most memorable moments of the tournament came courtesy of Ben Carter, who recorded a thrilling hole-in-one on the par-3 fourth—an unforgettable highlight from this year’s championship.
