2025 Kentucky PGA Junior Tour Season Concludes with Player of the Year Honors

The 2025 Kentucky PGA Junior Tour season has come to a close, marking another exciting year of competition across the Commonwealth. The tour is proud to announce seven junior golfers who have showcased exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and consistency to top their respective division points standings.

We congratulate all players who competed on the Kentucky Junior Tour this season and thank our host facilities, sponsors, and families for their continued support of these young golfers.

Girls 14–18 Player of the Year – Mary Clayton Rodgers (Frankfort, KY)

Mary Clayton Rodgers put together an outstanding 2025 season, finishing inside the top ten in eight of the nine events she played — and capturing two outright victories. Her year was highlighted by a win at the Louisville Junior Championship and a runner-up finish at the Northern Kentucky Junior Championship.

As a freshman in the Class of 2029, Mary Clayton has already proven she can compete confidently against older players, setting the stage for a bright future ahead.

“This was a goal I set at the start of the season, and I’m proud to represent such a talented and competitive group of young women on this tour,” Rodgers said.

She highlighted her first appearance in the Team Championship and her experience competing at her home course during the Girls’ Junior Amateur at Frankfort Country Club as season highlights.

Rodgers also noted the significance of closing the season at the Lou Perry Tour Championship, describing it as a fitting conclusion to a memorable year surrounded by friends and fellow competitors.

Girls 13 & Under Player of the Year – Parker Haddix (Nicholasville, KY)

Parker Haddix completed another remarkable season, closing it out with a commanding ten-shot victory at the Lou Perry Tour Championship. Parker went a perfect ten-for-ten, winning every tournament she entered to secure her second consecutive Player of the Year title.

Her best round of the season came with a 73 (+1) during the final round of the Junior Fall Cities at Seneca Golf Course, capping off an incredible year of dominance.

“I am honored to be named Girls 13U Player of the Year. For the second consecutive year, this is a great reward for all the hard work by my coaches and I.
Competing in the Junior Tour this past season was a great learning experience. Having to caddie myself taught me a lot about course management and decision making.
As always, it’s exciting to play new courses, see my golf friends, and make new ones! It’s hard to choose a favorite event this season because they were all fun.
The Ky Junior Tour is a great experience. I would like to thank everyone at Golf House Kentucky for another GREAT season!”

Girls 10 & Under Player of the Year – Madeline Sherertz (Georgetown, KY)

With a final win at the Lou Perry Tour Championship, Madeline Sherertz finished her season in style to capture her second Player of the Year award. She enjoyed a flawless 2025 campaign, winning all ten tournaments she competed in.

Madeline’s season was highlighted by an incredible 32 (-4) during the second round of the Kentucky Junior Amateur at Frankfort Country Club — one of the lowest rounds recorded in her age division this year.

Boys 16–18 Player of the Year – Thomas Evans (Fisherville, KY)

Thomas Evans put together a strong and consistent 2025 season, never finishing outside the top 25 in any of his five events. His steady play was highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Louisville Junior Fall Cities Championship and a top-four finish at the Louisville Junior Championship, rounding out an impressive year of competition against the state’s best junior players.

“I have two highlights on the KPGA Junior Tour, the first being the Lexington Junior Championship at Kearney Hills. I was five over with five to play and shot even (par).
My second highlight was shooting five under at the Louisville Junior Championship.”

Thomas continues, “It means the world to me to be the POY. I started playing golf my freshman year of high school and it is good to know that my hard work has paid off.”

Boys 14–15 Player of the Year – Andrew Perry (Winchester, KY)

Andrew Perry displayed grit, consistency, and competitive fire all season long, finishing inside the top ten in eight of his nine events. His three major victories came at the Northern Kentucky Championship, the Louisville Junior Fall Cities, and the 2025 Team Championship, the first event of the year.

Andrew also showcased his versatility with a top-six finish at the Kentucky Boys Amateur at Persimmon Ridge Country Club, cementing his place among the state’s elite junior golfers.

“Winning Player of the Year was one of my main goals this year. I felt that if I could achieve this given the incredible talent in the 2028 and 2029 classes, then it would represent having a successful season.

The main highlights for me this year were winning the Louisville Falls Cities Championship and finishing tied 6th at the KY Junior Amateur.

Thank you to the KYPGA Jr Tour for providing the opportunity for so many competitive local tournaments. Being able to play in these tournaments has played a major role in advancing my game.

Thank you to my parents, grandparents, and coaches for their endless support.”

Boys 11–13 Player of the Year – Max DeHaven (Hardinsburg, KY)

For the second straight year, Max DeHaven claimed the Boys 11–13 Player of the Year title after another standout season. Competing in fifteen events, Max earned seven victories and never finished outside the top four.

His season included two impressive rounds of 70 (-2) — one at the SEAY Motors One-Day Series at Long Run Golf Club and another at the Junior PGA event hosted by Quail Chase Golf Club.

“I am honored to be the KYPGA Boys 11–13 Player of the Year. It took my best golf to achieve this goal of mine.

Some of my highlights from this season were winning the Junior Am and the Junior PGA Championships. Other highlights were shooting three rounds of 71 and two rounds of 70.

Finally, my round out to the year was winning the Lou Perry Tour Championship. I want to thank my parents and family, my coach, and all the people that help to put on the Kentucky Junior PGA Tour.”

Boys 10 & Under Player of the Year – Hagan Newton (Berea, KY)

Hagan Newton turned in a flawless 2025 season, winning all ten events he played while never posting a score higher than +1. His steady play and composure were unmatched, and his season was highlighted by an incredible 31 (-5) in the opening round of the Louisville Junior Championship at Nevel Meade Golf Course.

Hagan’s dominance from start to finish made him an undeniable choice for Player of the Year honors.

“I'm really excited and proud to be named Player of the Year on the Kentucky Junior PGA Tour! It’s a huge honor, especially considering how competitive junior golf has become in Kentucky.

Some of my favorite moments this season were playing in the two-man event at Audubon with my friend Rock Riley from Alabama, winning the Junior Fall Cities (I’ve always loved that big trophy and had never been able to win it before), and spending time with my golf buddies throughout the summer to build lasting friendships.

I’m grateful for my family, coaches, and everyone else who has supported me on my golf journey.

Thank you to the Junior PGA staff for organizing such awesome events. I can’t wait for spring when the tournaments start up again!”
