LOUISVILLE, KY (July 8, 2025) – The second round of the 46th Kentucky Boys Junior Amateur unfolded under intense heat and light winds, setting the stage for another competitive day at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club.
Landon Hunt of Paducah, Kentucky, entered today with momentum from a first-round 69 (-3) and remained steady in round two. After opening with a bogey on hole 1, Hunt rebounded with a string of pars before carding birdies on holes 3, 5, and 6 to stay atop the leaderboard. Bogeys on 10, 15, and 17 briefly slowed his progress, but a closing birdie on 18 brought him back into a share of the lead. Hunt posted a one-under 71, bringing his tournament total to 141 (-3).
Talen Beane of California matched Hunt at the top after another solid round. Beane’s bogey-free front nine featured consistent play and a birdie on hole 4. His momentum continued with birdies on 11 and 12 before a double bogey on 13 erased his lead. A bogey on 15 was balanced by a birdie on 18, giving Beane a second consecutive round of 71 (-1) and tying him for the lead at 141 (-3).
Parker Geldhof of Lexington held steady in solo third after carding an even-par 72. His round featured bogeys on holes 2, 4, 13, and 17, offset by birdies on 3, 6, 12, and 15. With a two-day total of 143 (-1), Geldhof remains within striking distance heading into the final round.
The field will be cut to the top 54 players and ties at +13 following round two. The championship concludes tomorrow as players battle for the champion title!
