Dominant Victories Abound in Lou Perry Tour Championship

PROSPECT, KY (July 27, 2021) – The final major championship of the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour’s season is complete, and the summer series is now in the books. Another hot day was not going to stop anyone at Hunting Creek Country Club from ending the year in style at the Lou Perry Tour Championship. These top Kentucky PGA Junior Tour players were ready to finish off the season with nothing but top-tier scores.

Jacob Settles was unstoppable in the final round being the only player in the field who shot under-par scores both days. He finished his final day shooting a 69 (-3) and concluded the tournament with a two-day total of 137 (-7). This gave him a twelve-stroke win over his competitors which was one of the largest wins on the season in the Boys 15-18 Division. It also marks his first overall major title on the Junior Tour, following up a month that includes winning the Men’s Club Championship at Winchester Country Club and winning for the first time on the AJGA.

Emma Lindemoen takes the title in the Girls 15-18 Division after shooting a 77 (+5) on Tuesday, giving her a two-day total of 153 (+9). Lindemoen had a little bit of everything on her scorecard, including two birdies which helped her take home her first overall major title on the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour.

In the Boys 14 & Under Division, Radney Bales fired a two-day total of 148 (+4) which gave him a two-stroke win over his competitors. Bales’ eagle on the 13th hole is what pushed him to the lead and solidified his win.

Alexa Salamah sailed into the winner’s circle after shooting a solid two-day total of 163 (+19). Salamah was very consistent over the two-day championship and dominated to the tune of a sixteen-stroke win in the Girls 14 & Under Division.

Jacob Thompson had an amazing final round of 35 (-1) and a two-day total of 74 (+2) with two birdies and one bogey that allowed him to take home his latest win of what has been a productive summer of victories for him.

In the Girls 10-12 Division, Carol Ann Mendenhall is taking home the trophy after shooting a two-day total of 78 (+6). Mendenhall’s birdie on the 7th hole helped give her a seven-stroke win over her competitors.

Drayden Lindsay had two impeccable days at the Lou Perry Tour Championship and shot a two-day total of 71 (-1) which gave him a five-stroke win in the Boys 10 & Under Division.

Max DeHaven was untouchable in the Boys 8 & Under Division after recording a total score of 70 (-2). DeHaven’s eagle on the 9th hole helped build on his large lead for the win over his competitors.
