Lynn Lim Leads Four Players in Qualifying for U.S. Girls Junior

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (June 10, 2021) – Heavy rain and a heavyweight field at Heritage Hill Golf Club did not deter Lynn Lim, the Nashville resident who medaled in Thursday’s U.S. Girls Junior qualifier in Shepherdsville. Today’s qualifier for the USGA’s premier championship for girl golfers was the only one of its kind to be held in Kentucky this year, and Lim’s journey from Tennessee to Kentucky will now expand to Chevy Chase, Maryland, when Columbia Country Club hosts on July 12-17.

Lim recorded a round of 69 (-3), the only sub-70 round from the tournament. Lim’s success came with five birdies, and not even a double bogey on the par-three 11th could slow her down on Thursday. That was her lone blemish on an otherwise clean scorecard that led to a one-stroke margin for medalist honors.

Those accompanying Lim in the trip to Maryland are Lexanne Halama of Knoxville, Kaitlyn Schroeder of Jacksonville, and Sophie Linder of Carthage, Tennessee. Halama and Schroeder each shot 70 (-2) to finish in a tie for second place, while Linder snagged the final spot in a playoff over Brooke Biermann. Both Linder and Biermann shot 71 (-1) in regulation before Linder defeated Biermann in extra holes.
