Singh Leads Round Two in the 46th Kentucky Girls Junior Amateur

Round Two Leader, Athena Singh

FRANKFORT, KY (July 1, 2025) — Round two of the 46th Kentucky Girls Junior Amateur at Frankfort Country Club is in the books. Despite periods of rain softening the course conditions, the field remained undeterred, continuing to tackle a demanding layout with competitive grit. With poise and precision, many of Kentucky’s top junior golfers put their shot-making and mental toughness on display.

Athena Singh continued her steady command of the championship, firing a five-under-par 67 to remain in solo possession of the lead. Singh wasted no time getting her round going, opening with a birdie on the first hole and catching fire with three straight birdies on holes five through seven. A dropped shot at the turn didn’t slow her momentum—she bounced back with red numbers on eleven, twelve, and fifteen. A bogey on sixteen was the lone blemish on an otherwise stellar round, which she closed with back-to-back pars. With rounds of 72-67, Singh enters the final round with a multi-shot cushion and plenty of confidence.

Keira Yun surged up the leaderboard with an impressive round of 69 to move into a tie for second. Yun posted five birdies and went bogey-free on the front nine, showcasing a smooth tempo and precision from tee to green. Joining her in second is Piper Dunn, who also carded a 69. Dunn’s round was highlighted by birdies on holes four and seven. She played steady golf on the front nine, with a lone bogey on twelve interrupting an otherwise clean card.

Willa Borough followed her opening 71 with a second-round 74. She picked up a birdie on the tenth hole and recorded a string of pars throughout the round. While she gave back strokes on holes one, six, and sixteen, Borough remained composed and had a strong finish.
