Singh Leads Round One of the 46th Kentucky Girls Junior Amateur

Round one leader, Athena Singh
FRANKFORT, KY (June 30, 2025) -- Round one of the 46th Kentucky Girls Junior Amateur at Frankfort Country Club is in the books. The players faced no shortage of challenges, navigating a demanding course and a highly competitive leaderboard. This year’s tournament features some of the most accomplished and promising female golfers in the state, all showcasing impressive resilience and skill.
Athena Singh opened her round with a bogey on hole #1 but quickly found her rhythm, carding consistent pars throughout both the front and back nine, keeping the rest of her scorecard bogey-free. Her patience and precision paid off with a well-earned birdie on the fifteenth, capping off a round that showcased her resilience and ability to stay focused under pressure. Singh ended the day with a score of even-par (72).
Piper Dunn had a shaky start to the tournament, trading pars and bogeys on both the front and back nine. Dunn finally found relief with birdies on the 7th and 10th holes. She ended the day strong with a score of two-over-par (74), keeping her in contention at the top of the leaderboard.
Emlie Miller, Anna Simpson, Willa Borough, and Cailyn Rogers are all tied at four-over-par (76). Emlie Miller (76) held strong throughout the round and did not let her difficult front nine hold her back. She made straight pars on the back nine, a birdie on hole #14, and ended hole #18 with a bogey. Anna Simpson (76) had a very similar round with some challenges on the front nine on holes #1 and #6, but finished her back nine with 6 pars, a birdie on #12, and bogeys on #16 and #17. Cailyn Rogers mirrors her round as those T3 with her. Rogers's highlights were her two birdies on #5 and #8. Willa Borough powered through the front nine, despite 2 bogeys on #1 and #3. Borough had a more challenging back nine, with a double bogey on hole #12 that she balanced out with a birdie on hole #18.
