Kearney Hill Golf Links Hosts 2025 Lexington Junior Championship

LEXINGTON, KY The 2025 Lexington Junior Championship returns to Kearney Hill Golf Links on June 18–19, continuing its legacy as one of the most prestigious stops on the Kentucky Junior Tour calendar. This year’s tournament will once again showcase the state’s most talented youth golfers across seven divisions in both 36-hole and 18-hole stroke play formats.

The 18-hole divisions (Boys 16–18, Boys 14–15, Boys 11–13, Girls 14–18, and Girls 13 & Under) will compete across two days, while the 9-hole divisions (Boys 10 & Under and Girls 10 & Under) will play a single 18-hole round.

This event also serves as the Lexington Junior City Championship—the premier youth tournament on the Play Golf Lex schedule. In 2022, the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour joined forces with Play Golf Lex to co-administer the event, combining the historic Junior City Championship with the Tour’s Lexington Junior Championship. This collaboration has elevated the tournament’s competitive profile while streamlining the Junior Tour calendar for families and players alike.

In addition to trophies and recognition, players earn Player of the Year points toward the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour standings. The tournament also offers exclusive exemptions: the overall boys champion earns a spot in the Play Golf Lex Men’s City Championship, while the overall girls champion qualifies for the Play Golf Lex Women’s City Championship.

Past champions include notable names such as Will Bishop, Casey Powell, Zach Watterson, and, most recently, Barton Rutledge and Channing Hagen, the 2024 overall champions.

With its blend of tradition, talent, and opportunity, the 2025 Lexington Junior Championship is set to deliver another memorable chapter in Kentucky’s Junior Tour history.

Round 1 begins Wednesday, June 18th, at 7:30 AM.
